Youth and Peacebuilding workshop: the workshop was established in 2017 with the objective of engaging and educating Cambodians youth about history, justice, psychological reconciliation for victims, and the role of youth in peacebuilding. The program focuses on peace education from Cambodia’s three religions, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity. Representatives from these three religions help participants understand peaceful conflict resolution methods and their role as future leaders. The workshop is organized every August (For more details will update on museum social media page).

Mobile Museum “My School, My Museum”: This new project of the museum’s educational outreach program, allows five teams (Education, Archives, Conservation, Exhibitions, and Research) working on educational activities and raising awareness of the Khmer Rouge’s history to work together across provinces. The objective of the project is to help students and the general public gain a better understanding of the museum’s history, activities, and role in preserving heritage site; to reflect on crimes, particularly the history of the Khmer Rouge and S-21, and to acknowledge the value of peace.

Study Tour: Every year, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum organizes study tours for schools, organizations, and the general public who are interested in learning more about the museum’s history. The museum offers presentations and guided tours of its exhibitions. Requests must be submitted in formal form, including objectives, student level, dates and times, and the number of students. (For the form, please contact the museum education team.)

MUSEUM TRAINING COURSE

  • Teacher Training on methodology of teaching Khmer Rouge history: The training course on teacher training was established in 2017. The museum provided a training course to historian teachers to strengthen their capacity while also providing new methods and activities for teaching Democratic Kampuchean history.
  • Methodology for researching Democratic Kampuchea’s history: the museum aims to increase the capacity of youths to conduct research on Khmer Rouge history. The course provides foundational knowledge through historical perspectives and provides learners with how to compile reliable source documents for further research.
